Tasmanian Poppy Teaser

Narcan (naloxone) is an overdose reversal medication manufactured from the same poppies as opioid medications such as oxycodone, hydrocodone. This is a short teaser featuring footage of Tasmanian poppies shot on location in Tasmania, Australia.  This will be part of my video installation for my PhD thesis showing the relationship between Tasmanian poppy agriculture and first responders using naloxone to reverse opioid overdoses in Massachusetts. Tasmania supplies nearly all the world's raw poppy material for naloxone production. The imagery was shot by Scott Atkins, of Lusy Productions based in Launceston, Tasmania and edited by Shawn Gauvain.
